City of Cologne secures Boll Archive
Cologne - The city of Cologne has the extensive private archive desSchriftstellers bought Henry Boll (1917-1985). DieKulturstiftung the country says it is a "treasure trove for künftigeForschungen.
From his birth certificate to the documents zurVerleihung of the Nobel Prize in 1972 was all there.
The Archives gehörtebisher a community of heirs. The purchase was supported by derKulturstiftung of countries and other funders.
The collection includes unpublished works of the time vor1945, manuscripts of novels, reviews and translations for 1945sowie Boll about 2,400 letters, including many from his Soldatenzeitim World War II to his wife Anne Marie.
